Lallemand CBC-1 Cask & Bottle Conditioning Yeast, 11g

(1 customer review)

CBC-1 is a single stain selected from the Lallemand yeast culture collection for refermentation, preferably used with priming sugars such as dextrose. The best thing about CBC-1 is that it does not affect the flavor of the original beer to be refermented

The major benefit for you of using Muntons Standard Yeast is its relatively low cost.

All of our yeasts are supplied in six gramme sachets sufficient to brew five U.K.gallons, six U.S. gallons or twenty three litres of beer.

LalBrew® CBC-1 has been specifically selected from the Lallemand Yeast Culture Collection for its refermentation properties and is recommended for Cask and Bottle Conditioning. LalBrew® CBC-1 referments beer efficiently due to its high resistance to alcohol and pressure. The flavor is neutral, therefore the original character of the beer is preserved. The yeast will settle and form a tight mat at the end of refermentation. LalBrew® CBC-1 can also be used for primary fermentation of dry ciders or mead. Maltotriose is not metabolized during primary fermentation of beer, so LalBrew® CBC-1 is well suited for sweeter fruit beers or fullbodied, malty ales.

Primary Beer Styles: fruit beers, full-bodied, malty beers, dry cider and mead
Bottle Conditioning: all beer styles
Aroma: Neutral
Fermentation Range: Primary 68°F (Refermentation: 59-77°F)
Alcohol Tolerance: Primary 18% ABV (Refermentation: 12-14% ABV)

I have used this product many times and it is outstanding. How did I use? Primarily with making lagers, where you have a long fermentation times, diacetyl rests, cold crashing, etc. What’s left in the way of yeast is poor for bottle conditioning. The manufacturers fly sheet has good info, but this is a straightforward product to use.
