Description
Origin: New Zealand. A triploid variety from HortResearch, bred from a selection of New Zealand breeding stock and Saazer. Motueka™ brings a winning combination of noble heritage with southern hemisphere fruit.
Usage: Primarily aroma, but can easily be used as a dual-purpose hop. Its mixture of Saaz character with distinct lemon-lime citrus plus good oil content makes for a unique signature when used throughout the kettle in hoppy lagers, Belgian ales, or wheat beers.
Aroma & Flavor Characteristics: Sweet and resinous with zingy citrus and fresh herbal notes (basil, rosemary) and hints of dried orchard fruit around the edges.
Alpha Acid Range: 6.5 – 7.5%
Beta Acid Range: 5.0 – 5.5%
Co-Humulone as % of alpha: 28 – 30
Total oils mL/100 gr.: 0.8 – 1.0
